Thursday, March 21st, 2024, the University of Djilali BOUNAAMA-Khemis Miliana was honored to welcome the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Pr. BEDDARI Kamel, and the Minister of Knowledge Economy and Startups, and Micro-enterprises Mr. YACINE Mehdi Walid, who visited our campus for a working and inspection visit during which they inaugurated a number of pedagogic structures. The two ministers were welcomed by the Pr. BERABEH Mohamed Echeikh, and Mr. FILALI Abdelghani, the wali of Ain Defla, The vice rectors, Security authorities, the social partners,the teaching staff, students, and media.
The two ministers began their visit by inaugurating the new university pole, where they received further information about this novel structure, which is currently put into service and will eventually include 6 000 instructional seat split between the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, the Faculty of Economic, Commercial and Management Sciences, and the Faculty of Letters and Languages, where the two ministers followed explanations on this educational structure, and also the groundbreaking of 2000 pedagogic seat. Then, the ministrial delegation has assisted a lecture in english presented in the economics faculty, followed by a visit to an exhibition of several scientific researches and inovating student projects within the frame of the entrepreneurship, and sports students’ activities, as well as they put into service the new rectorate structure. The ministerial delegation, moreover, led a visit to the Enterpreneurship Interfaces Center in where they listened to further talks about this strucure.
At the last stop, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research met the university family in the conference room, where he listened to a speech by the Wali of Ain Defla Mr. FILALI Abdelghani, followed by a speech by the University’s Rector, Professor BERABEH Mohmed Echeikh, who gave a presentation on the most important stations the university has crossed in the current year, including digitization, incubator, start-ups and other different pedagogical issues.
During this visit, The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research stressed that his department aims to make the Algerian universities source for economic growth at local and national level. As well as Mr. Yacine El Mahdi Oualid, The Minister of the Knowledge Economy and Startups, for his part, highlighted the close between his industry and higher education, notably in the area of the establishment of young enterprises by academics.
This valuable visit was closed by inaugurating some other university services structures, namely the new directorate of university services.
